Lipoedema Australia Professional Membership is designed for clinicians and practitioners who are committed to improving care for people living with lipoedema through evidence-based, respectful and collaborative practice.

Members gain access to a trusted professional network, educational resources, member-only events and opportunities to stay informed about current research, clinical developments and best practice in lipoedema management.

Membership also provides visibility through our Practitioner Directory listing and member communications, while supporting ongoing professional development, peer connection and engagement with the broader lipoedema community.

 

Who is Membership For?

All medical, allied health, complementary/alternative therapists, and industry colleagues who work with lipoedema patients or those researching lipoedema are eligible for professional membership - including, but not limited to:

Doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, podiatrists, osteopaths, Bowen therapists, remedial massage therapists, wound care specialists, dermal clinicians, myotherapists, surgeons (plastic & reconstructive, vascular, orthopaedic, bariatric, obstetric etc.), dermatologists, endocrinologists, rheumatologists, gynaecologists, exercise physiologists, exercise scientists, psychologists, counsellors, nutritionists, dietitians.

Membership Pre-requisites

Applicants must provide evidence of the following:

Recognised qualification

Lipoedema‑specific education or relevant industry experience

Professional scope consistent with lipoedema care

Registration with relevant professional association

Professional indemnity insurance

Evidence of lipoedema interest shown on website/socials
